Big Talbot Island State Park

If you’re looking for spectacular views nearby, take your VW Tiguan and make the short trip to Big Talbot Island. Located on a coastal barrier island in Jacksonville, it’s an easy ride in your versatile Tiguan with plenty of room for your friends and their gear. Here you’ll find miles of undeveloped coastline and pristine beaches—all with incredible views. Big Talbot is located in Jacksonville, but it feels like it’s worlds away.

There are plenty of spots at Big Talbot to stop and enjoy the view. If you want to combine your walk with some exercise, consider hiking the beach trail that runs along the island’s shoreline. And don’t miss the famous and unforgettable Boneyard Beach with its fallen trees and bleached branches littered along the shoreline.

The Riverwalk

Check out the downtown Riverwalk for a great family-friendly experience. It’s located on the St. Johns River and offers fantastic views of the Jacksonville skyline. The Riverwalk is located in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, so it’s easy to get there. You’ll find many residents and visitors along the Southbank concrete boardwalk, taking in the city views, wildlife, and riverboats.  

The Riverwalk travels from Hyatt Regency Jacksonville downtown to the Brooklyn district, connecting many landmarks and museums. All along the path are spectacular views to appreciate, with dining within easy walking distance along much of the boardwalk. The Northbank Riverwalk frequently has entertainment and stretches from Berkman Plaza to I-95 in Riverside.

Stinson Park

For a view of Jacksonville that will take your breath away, look no further than Stinson Park. Stinson Park is located on the north side of Jacksonville and offers some of the city’s most incredible views. The park is situated on top of a bluff overlooking the St. Johns River, so you’ll see both the river and downtown Jacksonville from one vantage point. At Stinson Park, you can catch views of the river, boats, and the beautiful Ortega Drawbridge.
