If you’ve got a large family, or if friends frequently tag along when you hit the road, you need a vehicle with plenty of passenger capacity. If you’re curious about which Volkswagen models can transport the most passengers, head to your local VW dealership and check out the Atlas and the Tiguan. Both SUVs offer impressive passenger capacity and plenty of room for cargo. The Atlas Cross Sport, which offers slightly less passenger capacity, is also a good option.

Which Models at Your VW Dealership Carry the Most Passengers?

VW Atlas

The spacious three-row Atlas can comfortably seat seven adults. Storage nooks perfect for stashing smaller items, ample cupholders, and a large cabin with plenty of legroom make the Atlas the perfect choice for drivers who regularly transport a group. There’s also plenty of room onboard for everyone’s luggage. When both rear rows of seats are folded down, the cabin of this SUV can haul an impressive amount of cargo.

You’ll find 20.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row and an impressive 96.8 cubic feet of space when both rear rows of seating are down. All trim levels of the Atlas run on a 269-horsepower turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This SUV comes with either front or all-wheel drive. This SUV is also ready to entertain, with a standard 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.

VW Tiguan

The Tiguan is a compact SUV that can accommodate seven passengers with an available third row of seating. Amenities like six-way manually adjustable heated front seats, cloth upholstery, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability will keep every member of your party comfortable. Certain trim levels of the Tiguan offer features like leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof.

You’ll find 12 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row in this vehicle. When the third-row seats are folded flat, cargo space increases to 33 cubic feet. The Tiguan has a turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder engine with 183 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

VW Atlas Cross Sport

The Atlas Cross Sport is a two-row SUV with seating for five passengers. It’s essentially a sportier version of the VW Atlas but with less passenger capacity. Instead of the third row of seating, the Cross Sport offers a sloping roofline. Like the VW Atlas, the Cross Sport operates on a turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

If you want plenty of room for passengers but don’t need to seat seven, the Atlas Cross Sport is a terrific option.
