2022 Volkswagen Atlas

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is available in five trim packages, including SE, SE with Technology, SEL, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line. All trims feature roof rails, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. An adaptive LED front-lighting system with all-weather lights, low-speed corner illumination, and daytime running lights is standard on all except for the base SE trim. Other high-end features include a hands-free remote liftgate, heated windshield washer nozzles, a power tilt/slide panoramic sunroof, and heated side mirrors. Owners of the Atlas can choose from a variety of modern paint colors. Exterior paint options include Platinum Gray, Pyrite Silver, Tourmaline Blue, Deep Black, and Pure White.

The SE, SE with Technology, and SEL trims feature a 235-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo I-4 engine that produces 258 pound-feet of torque. The SEL R-Line and SEL Premium R-Line have a 276-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 266 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Engines include Tiptronic mode that allows owners to shift manually. The SE trims are front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive available. All other trims are all-wheel drive only.

Except for the SE trims, properly-equipped Atlas trims have a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. Volkswagen's 4MOTION all-wheel drive allows you to switch between driving modes by simply turning a dial. Driving modes include snow, on-road, off-road, and off-road custom.

All trims feature automatic climate control, keyless access, push-button start, and a 115-volt power outlet. Except for the SE model, all trims include heated front seats and ambient lighting. The top-of-the-line SEL Premium R-Line also features heated second-row seats, ventilated front seats, and leather upholstery. The second row is a 60/40 split-folding bench. The third row is a 50/50 split-folding bench with easy entry. The Atlas provides 21 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to a maximum of 98.6 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded flat. Infotainment options abound in the 2022 Atlas. All trims include a responsive touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, two USB ports, Bluetooth audio streaming, App-Connect, voice command, and onboard navigation. Except for the SE, all trims also include additional second-row USB ports, satellite radio, a Fender premium audio system, and a wireless charging pad.

Every Atlas has anti-lock brakes, brake assist, a suite of advanced air bags, second-row LATCH connectors, and an Intelligent Crash Response System. Other standard features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, dynamic road sign display, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a rear-view camera, pedestrian monitoring, and park distance control with maneuver braking. High-end models also include high beam control, travel assist, lane assist, and emergency assist.
